Job Objectives:

Be instrumental in developing the overall culture, systems, and processes of the company from an information technology system viewpoint. The main responsibilities of the IT Support Specialist is the maintenance of all computer systems and software within the company. They will ensure that these services run smoothly by monitoring their efficiency as well as security measures taken against any vulnerabilities in software programs used on a day-to-day basis, ensuring secure operation throughout every department.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1. Support production staff in day-to-day duties

2. Troubleshoot end user hardware and software issues including, but not limited to: Printer issues, Network and internet services, Active Directory authentication issues, Physical cabling issues, Workstation problems

3. Monitor and manage Ticket Queues

4. Perform hardware maintenance

5. Handle software and firmware updates when applicable

6. Perform miscellaneous tasks related to IT equipment

7. Printer support

8. Create and maintain documentation for various aspects of the environment

9. All other duties as assigned.

SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Strong communication skills and a high degree of ethical and professional standards. Must be trusted by subordinates, peers, and superiors, and must be willing to accept responsibility for their performance.

2. Associate’s degree in computer science/Information Technology preferred OR 1-2 years’ experience in an onsite helpdesk role.

3. Requires a commitment to continuous improvement to meet ever increasing demands for improved quality, cost, and delivery performance.

4. Ability to communicate effectively with the Manufacturing Operations Team.

5. Strong problem-solving skills of both the interpersonal and the technical side of the operation.

6. Organized and structured approach to the work environment, with strong attention to details.

7. Ability to Train Operators and Inspectors in processes related instructions.

8. Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications and Plex manufacturing software.

9. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.

12. Ability to perform in a proactive mode, and to plan and respond accordingly.

13. Must be willing to travel on a limited basis.

14. After-hours support may be necessary.


Required:

· Adherence to STU Employee Handbook Guidelines


PHYSICAL REQUIIREMENTS:

· Movement: Standing for up to 8 hours, easily able to walk long distances over 1000 feet, reasonably sitting and bending as required.

· Lifting: Carrying, pushing, and pulling carts/packages within the factory up to 300 lbs.

· Hand-eye coordination: Using hands to feel, handle, or finger objects, or to reach with arms

· Vision: Being able to see and respond to dangerous situations, close visual acuity to perform computer-based work, reading drawings, inspecting parts.

· Hearing: Being able to hear and respond to sounds

· Manual dexterity: Being able to move objects and assemble parts using limbs with good coordination, able to enter data into a computer using a keyboard.

· Balance: Being able to move safely within the factory and office areas

· Driving: Be able to drive to and from customer / supplier locations




REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The IT Support Specialist reports to the IT Manager.
