Job Description

As the IT Support Intern, you will support day-to-day IT operations, end-user support, and ongoing technology projects. This role will assist with ticket resolution, device setup, basic troubleshooting, documentation, and IT asset tracking. You will also support integration tasks tied to business changes or acquisitions under the direction of the IT Program Manager.

Responsibilities


1. End-User Support & Help Desk Assistance:

  • Provide support to employees for common issues related to Windows/macOS, mobile devices, printers, and standard business applications.
  • Triage incoming requests, gather details, and resolve routine issues; escalate higher-complexity items with clear notes and troubleshooting steps already attempted.
  • Assist with account and access tasks (as authorized), including password resets, basic MFA support, and access troubleshooting.
  • Update ticket notes and outcomes to ensure accurate records in the ticketing system.


2. Device Setup, Deployment, and Lifecycle Support:

  • Assist with preparing and deploying laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals (imaging/enrollment, configuration, packaging, labeling).
  • Support user onboarding/offboarding tasks (equipment collection/return, basic account checklist execution, documentation updates).
  • Perform basic maintenance steps such as verifying patch status, confirming backups/sync, and reporting exceptions.


3. Hardware and Software Asset Management:

  • Help maintain hardware inventory records (assignments, returns, spares, warranty information).
  • Assist with license tracking and software install validation (as directed).
  • Support procurement workflows by gathering quotes, documenting comparisons, and confirming delivery/asset tagging steps.

4. Network & Basic Systems Support:

  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting (Wi-Fi connectivity checks, cable swaps, workstation connectivity verification).
  • Help validate operational status of common systems (printers, conference room setups, basic connectivity checks).
  • Document recurring issues and common fixes to reduce repeat tickets.


5. IT Documentation, Governance Support, and Security Basics:

  • Update and create how-to guides, internal knowledge base articles, and checklists (onboarding, common fixes, device setup standards).
  • Support security hygiene tasks (confirming MFA enrollment steps, reporting suspicious emails, ensuring devices follow baseline practices) under supervision.
  • Follow Company IT policies and handle sensitive information responsibly.


6. M&A/Integration Support (As Assigned):

  • Assist with structured integration tasks (inventory capture, user/device lists, documentation of site conditions, account/setup checklists).
  • Support data gathering and progress tracking for IT integration workstreams (status updates, follow-ups, documentation).


7. Cross-Functional Support and Training Assistance:

  • Help coordinate basic training logistics (scheduling, quick reference guides, confirming user readiness).
  • Provide friendly, patient support to users with varying technical skill levels.


8. Additional Responsibilities:

  • Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by the IT Program Manager.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree/certification in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Basic familiarity with common IT concepts: Windows/Microsoft 365 fundamentals, endpoints/devices, and networking basics (Wi-Fi, LAN).
  • Strong communicationand customer service mindset; able to explain steps clearly to non-technical users.
  • Organized and detail-oriented; able to follow processes and document work consistently.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately and follow security best practices.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work onsite as needed
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player attitude is a must.
