Position Summary
Under general direction, the IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting services to employees, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and other technology resources by focusing on help desk support and user assistance. This role reports to the IT Director and requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to dependable support.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Support
o Provide first-level technical support to end users via phone, email, and in-person assistance
o Troubleshoot and resolve Windows operating system issues
o Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, and peripheral devices
o Support printer setup, configuration, and troubleshooting across the office environment
o Document all support requests and resolutions in ticketing system
• Hardware Management
o Perform basic hardware installations and replacements
o Set up new workstations for employees
o Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies
o Assist with equipment moves and office relocations as needed
• User Support
o Train users on basic software applications and system functions
o Create and maintain user accounts and access permissions
o Assist with password resets and account lockout issues
o Provide guidance on best practices for technology use
• Other Duties
o Maintains compliance with local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
o Reliable and consistent attendance during regular business hours.
o Performs other related duties as assigned.
