Role Summary:


As Kilns Technology & Systems Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all IT functions for the company. This includes the management of hardware and software, strengthening our security posture, and implementing new technologies. A critical component of this role is designing, managing, and standardizing our Audio/Visual (A/V) systems for conference rooms, event spaces, and digital signage across all Kiln locations. You will lead IT expansion efforts to support our rapidly scaling business, ensuring all technological and support needs are met. You will work closely with other departments to ensure that Kiln's IT infrastructure meets the evolving needs of the business and enables the company to achieve its ambitious growth goals. The role is based at our main office in Lehi, UT and will require travel to other Kiln locations within Utah and out of state (approximately once a month).

Major Responsibilities:


A/V & Conference Technology:

  • Design, configure, install, and maintain enterprise-level A/V systems for conference rooms and event spaces, including technologies like Crestron, Logitech, Viewsonic, and Cynap.
  • Standardize A/V hardware deployments across all sites to ensure a consistent, high-quality, and user-friendly experience.
  • Collaborate with the build team to plan and execute audiovisual setups for new sites, including digital signage and background audio systems.
  • Audit current meeting room and A/V technologies to identify gaps and develop recommendations for optimization and improvement.
  • Oversee the research, prototyping, and design of new A/V solutions to keep Kiln's offerings frictionless and state-of-the-art.


IT Leadership & Strategy:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies to support the company's growth and objectives.
  • Oversee IT expansion to support significant growth in both headcount and physical locations.
  • Manage and mentor junior IT staff, building team capability in technical support, onboarding, and systems troubleshooting.
  • Manage the IT budget, ensuring all expenditures are in line with company goals and focused on cost efficiencies.
  • Foster strong working relationships with a wide range of internal partners, from technical teams to executive management.
  • Collaborate strategically with external partners, including Managed Service Providers (MSPs), to deploy and manage scalable network infrastructure.


Hardware, Software & Operations:

  • Manage the end-to-end hardware lifecycle, from procurement to deployment, utilizing Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions such as Apple Business Manager, Microsoft Intune, and Mosyle.
  • Evaluate, streamline, and manage the company's tech stack, which includes over 75 critical business tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Asana, HubSpot, 1Password).
  • Identify and consolidate underutilized software to achieve significant cost savings.
  • Develop and implement standardized IT onboarding and offboarding processes, including device preparation, training, and account management.
  • Develop and maintain a library of IT training materials, user-friendly guides, and a robust knowledge base.


Security & Compliance:

  • Strengthen the companys security posture by implementing practices such as phishing simulations, 2FA/SSO, robust device policies, and regular password audits.
  • Lead quarterly device audits, OS compliance checks, and the timely renewal of critical security certificates.


New Site Deployments & Projects:

  • Coordinate the comprehensive IT setup for new site deployments, including internet provisioning, telephony systems, printers, and all A/V requirements.


People Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Community Manager in your portfolio, while creating development plans to facilitate growth, and be the leader for your entire portfolio.
  • Manage relationships with RVP and key cross-functional teams such as Business Development, Marketing, Maintenance, Finance & I.T.
  • Track the performance of direct reports regularly and conduct performance management reviews.
  • Ensure employee satisfaction of team members in your portfolio, and communicate any matters of concern to RVP as appropriate


Member Satisfaction Responsibilities:

  • Ensure healthy member retention at all sites under stewardship
  • Solve member escalations needing market-level support.
  • Manage key initiatives related to enhancing community experience and creating operating efficiencies.
  • Personally engage with key member organizations and prospects to ensure member satisfaction and retention. Manage member renewals at terms that drive overall financial health for the portfolio.


Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT management, preferably in a rapidly scaling, multi-site business.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience designing, installing, and managing enterprise-level A/V systems (e.g., Crestron, Logitech) for various environments, including conference rooms, theaters, and digital signage.
  • Strong knowledge of network and server systems and experience collaborating with MSPs on network infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with MDM solutions (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Mosyle, Apple Business Manager).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage large IT budgets with a focus on cost efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a focus on team building and development.
  • Willingness to travel out of state.
