Job Description
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for cleaning and aesthetic maintenance of campus buildings; provides operational support in the set-up, clean-up, and tear-down of onsite events and gatherings, classroom furniture relocations, and incoming requests for service.
Pay rate: $17.73/hr.
Location: Dearborn, MI.
Shift: 7a-3:30p, Monday thru Friday
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Valid Driver’s License.

Physical ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.

Demonstrated ability in the cleaning and maintenance of commercial buildings.
Additionally, the most successful candidate will have the following unique competencies:

Experience with commercial painting, wall repair, and property maintenance.
Job Description:

Clean campus buildings using required equipment, chemicals, products, and methods.
-
Maintain classroom and restroom supplies; keep assigned supply closet stocked.

Follow management’s instructions for use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Follow instructions for assigned keys, radios, security procedures (opening and locking buildings), and using shared equipment (e.g., ladders, floor scrubbers).

Move furniture and equipment; performs set-ups and tear downs for onsite events and gatherings.

May climb ladders and scaffolding for window cleaning, high dusting, changing lights, and painting.

Report building issues when observed in the regular performance of duties.

Perform seasonal work including but not limited to grounds keeping, floor refinishing, and clearing snow and ice from campus walkways and building entrances.

Operate vehicles including lift-gate and fork trucks.

Installs common classroom fixtures including but not limited to paper dispensers.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
