Human Service Specialist (Part-Time) – Community Transition Team
Location: Eau Claire, WI Hours: 16–20 hours per week Schedule: Mon, Wed, Fri 7:00 AM–11:30 AM; Sat 7:15 AM–11:30 AM Employer: Lutheran Social Services of WI & Upper MI
About the Role
Lutheran Social Services is seeking a Part-Time Human Service Specialist to support our Community Transition Team in the Eau Claire area. Due to contractual requirements, only male applicants are eligible for this position.
This role is ideal for students or early‑career professionals interested in criminal justice, human services, or community-based support work.
Primary Responsibilities

Administer and observe urinalysis, breathalyzer tests, oral fluid swabs, and sweat patch testing
-
Provide services aligned with each client’s service plan

Participate in recovery teams and provide feedback on client progress
-
Assist with medication monitoring (non-prescriber tasks such as delivery, education, and compliance support)

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with LSS, regulatory, and payer standards
-
Collaborate with clients, service teams, and supervisors to determine effective interventions
-
Maintain client records and make recommendations within scope of practice

Attend client meetings, staff development sessions, and clinical supervision

Testify in legal proceedings when required

Work a flexible schedule based on client needs, including occasional evenings or weekends

Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required:
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet LSS driving/insurance requirements

Ability to complete required background, caregiver, medical, and program-specific checks

Ability to read, write, and document services clearly and accurately
-
Basic computer proficiency, including electronic health records and email
Preferred:

One (1) year of related work experience

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Comfort working in community settings, including homes, offices, and outdoor environments

Ability to navigate changing software and technology systems
Physical Requirements

Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and stair climbing

Ability to travel daily within the community; occasional overnight travel may be required

Moderate noise environment; exposure to outdoor conditions during travel
