Pony Bird, Inc. is looking for a full-time Maintenance Assistant at our Mapaville location! We provide high-quality supports and services for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in a fun, enriching, and supportive environment. This position ensures these environments remain clean and healthy for the individuals who call Pony Bird home. We maintain numerous work sites throughout Jefferson County.

PAY RANGE $18.20 to 22.75/hr based on experience
Hours - 7:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. Mon. - Friday. Occasional on call for evenings and weekends for emergencies.
Responsibilities include:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary functions.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Operate maintenance van and grass cutting and snow removal vehicles.
- Operate vehicles and perform vehicle maintenance according to Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
- Lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment as intended and proper storage of such equipment.
- Identify and remove or repair any hazardous conditions or concerns that may cause accidents or injuries.
- Install, monitor, maintain, and repair stationary equipment to ensure safety to ensure safety and continuous operation of services.
- Monitor, operate, inspect, repair, test, and maintain all equipment and related activities involving heating, cooling, and ventilation.
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance and repairs on agency buildings, vehicles, appliances, equipment, generators, heating/cooling units, septic systems, electrical, and flooring as assigned.
- Complete work orders and preventative maintenance in a timely manner and meeting expectations as to quality of work.
- Safely perform minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs.
- Perform minor fixture installation and painting duties.
- Follow established maintenance schedules (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Work cohesively with maintenance team and other co-workers.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Move furniture, appliances and equipment and to perform assembly.
- Complete weekly and monthly check of building equipment, maintenance procedures, and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures as assigned.
- Paint walls and equipment.
- Respond to emergency calls.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or completion of GED program and five years of responsible experience in building and equipment maintenance, and repair.
- Demonstrate good skills in the use of hands and power tools and general maintenance.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and have the ability to interpret miscellaneous drawings, instructions, and schematics
- Must possess basic computer skills for using the work order system.
