POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Property Accountant to join our team and contribute to our financial operations. You will be involved in maintaining and analyzing property financial data. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards.
Your role is to oversee financial transactions related to one or more properties, including rent collection, expense tracking, and budgeting. Your responsibilities may include preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and providing financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
Previous experience in either public accountancy or property/real estate accounting is required. Knowledge of property management software and familiarity with accounting principles specific to real estate transactions are also desirable qualities for this role.
This is a fully in-office position at our Philadelphia headquarters office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review all invoices/bills for completeness and correctness, code to proper accounts and prepare and draw checks from proper accounts.
- Fill out and make bank deposits of all checks via remote deposit scan online bank software for properties.
- Strong follow up with property management to insure proper and timely receipt of all checks and invoices for all property sites, by location.
- Advise any issues concerning same (delinquency in rent and or other payments).
- Monitor all management activities and resolve issues while keeping all parties advised.
- Responsible for making required daily General Ledger entries and month end Journal Entries
- Accounts Payable entries and Disbursements
- Generate Monthly P&Ls & Balance Sheets
- Bank Reconciliations
- General Office Duties
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Adherence to the company's mission and values in all aspects of the job.
- Experience in either public accountancy or real estate/construction accounting
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in PM Systems.
- Accounting degree preferred.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Candidates with an active CPA License will be given priority
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The compensation for this position ranges from $55,000/year and up, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This full-time position is considered exempt from overtime pay under the federal and state wage and hour laws.
