Job Summary: Our client is seeking a highly specialized Wi-Fi / Wireless Network Engineer with deep expertise in RF design, wireless testing, and site surveys. This role is focused exclusively on wireless networking and requires a true subject-matter expert capable of designing, analyzing, validating, and troubleshooting enterprise Wi-Fi environments using industry-standard RF tools. This is not a general network engineering role. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience designing wireless networks from the RF layer up and validating performance through formal testing and surveys.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect enterprise Wi-Fi networks using RF best practices, capacity planning, and performance-driven methodologies.
- Perform predictive, passive, and active wireless site surveys using Ekahau or equivalent wireless design tools.
- Analyze RF conditions, including signal strength, noise, interference, attenuation, and channel utilization, to optimize network performance.
- Validate wireless designs through testing and post-deployment surveys, ensuring coverage, capacity, throughput, and roaming requirements are met.
- Troubleshoot complex wireless performance issues related to RF behavior, interference, and environmental factors.
- Create and maintain wireless design documentation, site survey reports, heatmaps, and technical findings.
- Partner with infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders to align wireless solutions with operational requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations related to wireless architecture standards and best practices.
- Support wireless initiatives across corporate offices and clients' private destinations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience as a Wireless / Wi-Fi Engineer focused on RF design and analysis
- Proven experience using Ekahau for wireless design and site surveys OR deep experience with comparable RF tools (e.g., Hamina, AirMagnet).
- Demonstrated ability to design enterprise wireless networks, not just deploy hardware.
- Experience conducting wireless testing, validation, and post-deployment performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals (signal propagation, interference, attenuation, channel planning).
- Experience working with enterprise wireless infrastructure environments.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale or complex environments (hospitality, large campuses, venues, or outdoor deployments).
- Background working with wireless professional services teams or manufacturers.
- Experience supporting globally distributed or travel-based wireless projects.
- Industry certifications related to wireless networking (CWNP, Cisco Wireless, Aruba Wireless, etc.).
