Vice President for Research

The Vice President for Research serves as a member of the university's executive leadership team, reporting directly to the President, and works closely with the Provost and other members of the President’s Cabinet. Wayne State has world-class research programs in the sciences, engineering, social sciences, education, law and humanities. The VPR will work closely with schools and colleges to expand external funding opportunities and to support faculty research and collaborations.
As the senior research officer of the university, the Vice President for Research is responsible for collaborating with relevant constituencies to develop and implement a vision, plan, and policies to guide and expand the university's research portfolio, and work with faculty to oversee critical aspects of the university's research infrastructure and operations.
Direct reports to the Vice President for Research currently include assistant/associate vice presidents, directors, staff members within the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR). The Division of Research consists of Sponsored Programs Administration, the Office of Research Compliance, the Division of Laboratory Animal Research, and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety. Four of the university’s 29 centers and institutes also report to the Vice President for Research.

<li>Develop and implement a vision, plan and policies to guide the university's broad research portfolio in achieving the research goals of the university through regular consultation with researchers and research advisory groups across the campus. Work closely with colleges, schools and centers to advance the broad research mission of Wayne State University. Develop innovative ways to support faculty in seeking grant opportunities.</li>
<li>Develop strategies to ensure the necessary research infrastructure is available and aligned with existing research strengths and emerging research opportunities.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all federal, state and university regulations governing research, and ensure that research is conducted according to the highest ethical standards.</li>
<li>Work closely with the Provost and research faculty and advisory groups in the schools, colleges and centers to develop, refine and implement a university-wide vision and strategic plan to strengthen the university’s research portfolio and raise its research ranking.</li>
<li>Work with the Office of the Provost to strengthen research within the academic programs, departments and centers or institutes.</li>
<li>Work with the Graduate School to recruit top doctoral students.</li>
<li>Promote multidisciplinary and translational research opportunities across the university, as well as identify, develop and nurture innovation, collaboration, and strategic research initiatives.</li>
<li>Partner with TechTown, the university’s affiliated business incubator and accelerator, to encourage the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem both within WSU and across the region.</li>
<li>Participate on the steering committee for the Office of Business Innovation, the university’s central resource for student entrepreneurship, technology commercialization and corporate relations.</li>
<li>Serve as a member of the leadership team for the University Research Corridor, an alliance of Michigan’s three leading research institutions.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the senior leadership team of the university, sharing common university-wide goals and accountability with other team members.</li>
<li>Develop, oversee, implement, fund and assess research initiatives as identified in and aligned with the university’s strategic plan; participate in strategic planning efforts.</li>
<li>Advise the President, Provost and Deans on research initiatives, policy and operations.</li>
<li>Communicate research results and information to research faculty, university administrators, and other internal and external research constituencies.</li>
<li>Cultivate relationships with governmental granting and regulatory agencies and industry to aid in improving WSU’s research efforts and identification of research opportunities.</li>

Job Summary:    
We are looking for Peer Specialist with lived experiences to provide support, services and treatment to ACT clients, with the goal of improving overall stability in the community, promoting progress towards their recovery goals, as well as supporting life skills development. The Peer Specialist will be assigned to the Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT). The FACT team delivers comprehensive and effective services to individuals (age 18 and up) who are diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI) and whose needs have not been well met by more traditional service delivery approaches. These individuals also suffer from co-occurring substance use disorders and have histories of criminal legal system involvement. 
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an evidence-based practice that provides an integrated set of other evidence-based treatment, rehabilitation, case management, and support services delivered by a mobile, multi-disciplinary mental health treatment team to support recipient recovery through a highly individualized approach that provides recipients with the tools to obtain and maintain housing, employment, relationships and relief from symptoms and medication side effects.

What You Will Be Doing:  
<ul>
<li>Attend and participate in daily team meetings to discuss clients’ clinical and case management issues and needs.</li>
<li>Complete documentations required by the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DOHMH) licensing guidelines, NYS Medicaid billing guidelines as well as per CASES ACT Policy and Procedures.</li>
<li>Use motivational interviewing, recovery and trauma-informed approaches when delivering peer services to address housing, income support, education and vocational training, social supports, employment, and primary care needs.</li>
<li>Work effectively and involve ACT clients’ identified support network, as well as other service providers for service coordination.</li>
<li>Provide individual peer support and wellness counseling, harm reduction counseling using motivational interviewing and a person-centered approach.</li>
<li>Act as advocate and liaison for clients’ in income support and access to resources to support service plan goals.</li>
<li>Provide 24-hour crisis intervention on-call services on rotating basis.</li>
<li>Provide culturally competent services in accordance with CASES policies and practice.</li>
</ul>
  
What We Are Looking For:  
<ul>
<li>High school diploma.</li>
<li>At least 2 years of work experience providing peer support to individuals with serious mental illness and criminal justice involvement.</li>
<li>Certified Peer Specialist or Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, or eligible to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.</li>
<li>Lived experience using mental health treatment and/or substance use treatment services.</li>
<li>Individuals with previous criminal justice experience are eligible.</li>
<li>Proficiency with computer and electronic health records.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Skills: 
<ul>
<li>Graduate of a recognized peer specialist training program such as the Howie the Harp Peer Advocacy and Training Center Peer Specialist Program.</li>
<li>Fluency in Spanish. </li>
</ul>

Quick Supply Co. is a nationally recognized family-owned and locally operated company. We are immediately hiring a full-time CDL Driver with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements in the Coloma, WI area. 
Position: CDL Hazmat Driver
Position Overview
Our Drivers transport bulk and packaged products to customer job sites, operate our vehicles to manufacture and deliver product in to blast holes and provide general blast crew labor as needed. 
Driver candidates must have a valid CDL Class A or B with current Hazmat and Tank endorsements as well as current medical certification. If you need either of these endorsements and are willing to obtain with 90 days of hire, we will assist you to do so. 
Responsibilities of the Position
<ul>
<li>While carrying out daily responsibilities safety and compliance must be the first priority. </li>
<li>Must be reliable and able to work closely with other location and crew members to provide exceptional customer service. </li>
<li>Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections. </li>
<li>Load and unload vehicles ensuring products are handled, transported and stored according to policy and regulations. </li>
<li>Work outdoors in all types of weather, lifting and carrying 50 pounds or more of product and material on a regular basis. </li>
<li>Pull hoses, shovel and frequently walk, bend or squat. </li>
<li>Attend training and be able to to demonstrate knowledge and competence of vehicle operating systems and product application.</li>
<li>Available to work overtime to meet customer objectives. </li>
</ul>
 
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Must be at least 21 years old.</li>
<li>Must possess a valid CDL license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements and current medical certification. </li>
<li>High school education or equivalent. </li>
<li>Ability to lift 50+ pounds and handle physically demanding work outdoors on a daily basis.</li>
<li>Must be able to work under various weather conditions on rough terrain. </li>
<li>Must be self-motivated, dependable, and possess a strong work ethic.</li>
