The Role

What You’ll Do
<ul>
<li>Perform routine audits of compliance records related to the equipment registration, regulations, and Radiation Protection Programs.</li>
<li>Perform annual performance evaluations of radiologic imaging systems (fluoroscopy, radiography, mammography, and CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, ultrasound, nuclear medicine cameras, etc.</li>
<li>Oversee and review technologist quality control programs.</li>
<li>Attend scheduled hospital Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) and Radiation Protocol Committee (RPC) meetings.</li>
<li>Consult and/or direct staff in response to occupational and/or patient over-exposures.</li>
<li>Advise, support, and consult with technologists, radiologists, and Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) regarding clinical protocol management, dose assessment, and review of Radiation Protection Program Elements.</li>

Physical Requirements
 
A consulting physicist’s job can be physically demanding at times. A typical day may require the physicist to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time wearing a lead apron, lift various pieces of test equipment, move mobile diagnostic medical equipment between rooms at a facility and drive between client facilities. Drive times may exceed 60 minutes to, from and in between client facilities. The physicist must have the ability to lift 50 lb test equipment cases to a height of 3-4 feet, load and unload the cases from a vehicle and transport the equipment into and around the client facility. The physicist is expected to communicate with colleagues and clients on a frequent basis. The physicist will operate a computer and other electronic equipment daily. Requires ability to use and move equipment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

<li>Troubleshoot issues during cooking, depositing, drying, and packaging.</li>
<li>Collaborate with production teams to ensure formulas are efficient, consistent, and manufacturable.</li>

Regulatory &amp; Documentation
<ul>
<li>Ensure all formulations comply with FDA and GMP standards.</li>
<li>Work with QA/Regulatory teams on Supplement Facts Panels, ingredient lists, and Certificates of Analysis.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate formulation records and technical documentation.</li>
</ul>
 
Innovation &amp; Ingredient Evaluation
<ul>
<li>Assess new raw materials for performance, cost, and scalability.</li>
<li>Stay current with trends in functional ingredients and gummy delivery systems.</li>
<li>Collaborate with suppliers and flavor houses to support product innovation.</li>
</ul>
 
Cross-Team Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Provide technical guidance to internal teams and clients as needed.</li>
<li>Support sales/business development with formulation expertise during new project discussions.</li>
<li>Mentor junior staff and promote best practices in formulation.</li>
</ul>
 
Qualifications
 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.</li>
<li>5+ years of experience in gummy, confectionery, or nutraceutical formulation and scale-up.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of hydrocolloids, sweetener systems, flavors, and active ingredient stability.</li>
<li>Familiarity with sensory evaluation, stability testing, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes.</li>
<li>Understanding of FDA and GMP regulations for dietary supplements and foods.</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.</li>
<li>Bilingual skills is a plus</li>

Hybrid Work Locations; Skillman, NJ 4 days/week then in Summit, NJ 1 day per week. Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm (Monday through Friday). May fluctuate based on needs.
 
Contract Duration: 10 months, with likely extension
Pay Rate: $43.28 per hour (w2)
