About the Role
We’re seeking a dependable, hands-on Driver/Assistant Fleet Manager with a Class A or B CDL to join our team in Brighton, MI.
This is a DOT compliant position that combines a full-time driving route with part-time fleet management responsibilities. You’ll operate company trucks daily while also supporting our Fleet Manager with maintenance scheduling, compliance oversight, and operational coordination for our fleet of three trucks.
This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced CDL driver looking to take the next step toward fleet leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently on a daily route

Assist the Fleet Manager in day-to-day oversight of trucks, drivers, and routes

Schedule and track maintenance, inspections, and repairs across the fleet

Ensure DOT and FMCSA compliance for all vehicles, logs, and records

Maintain accurate vehicle records, including mileage, inspections, and maintenance logs

Support driver onboarding, training, and performance tracking

Respond promptly to equipment issues, maintenance needs, and operational challenges

Promote and uphold a safety-first culture and professional work environment

This role will have a primary focus on hauling in our International HX620 roll off truck and secondary focus on “Smashing” in our Kenworth T270 equipped with our proprietary Smash Machine.
Qualifications
-
Valid Class A or B CDL with 3+ years of commercial driving experience
Do not apply if you do not meet this requirement -
Accident- and violation-free for the past 5 years

Clean MVR and consistent work history

Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA compliance, vehicle maintenance programs, and driver logs

Strong mechanical awareness and ability to identify fleet needs

Proven leadership and communication skills — able to coordinate and motivate a small team

Comfortable using smartphones and other technology

Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test

Schedule: Monday–Friday, home daily (occasional short regional travel).

Shift: Approx. 5am-1pm - may vary slightly depending on the day

Work Mix: Full-time driving route + part-time fleet management support

Compensation: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
