A Pharmacy Pharmacist position is available on a contract-to-hire basis in the Phoenix, AZ area, offering a dynamic role within a lab pharmacy setting. This full-time opportunity involves supervising pharmacy technicians in the compounding, filling, and labeling of prescriptions and prepackaging bulk medications, ensuring accuracy, pharmaceutical quality, and compliance with all regulatory standards including USP guidelines and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee pharmacy technicians in compounding and preparation of medications
- Communicate with healthcare providers for prescription clarifications or refill authorizations
- Perform final checks on prescriptions to ensure quality and accuracy
- Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy laws and guidelines
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with USP standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management or supervisory staff
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Arizona Pharmacist License in good standing (mandatory)
- Knowledgeable about both sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques including capsules, injectables, oral liquids, topical medications, and more
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Willingness to obtain licensure in multiple states is preferred
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Rotating shifts between 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM during weekdays and between 8:00 AM and 6:30 PM on weekends
- 5 shifts per week, each 8.5 hours including weekends as needed to meet business needs
