About the Role

The Health Care Specialist helps ensure that the people we support receive safe, individualized, and person-centered health care. This position works closely with Direct Support Professionals, Specialists, Nurses, and Administrators to keep health systems organized, protocols up to date, and documentation accurate.

You’ll help ensure that health support is carried out in ways that protect each person’s rights, dignity, and independence—while promoting teamwork and open communication across all care partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and maintain individualized health protocols, physician orders, and medical device documentation.
  • Oversee safe medication practices and disposal of controlled medications.
  • Coordinate and review training materials to support DSP competency and confidence.
  • Review and maintain accurate health care records and documentation.
  • Partner with teams to respond to health-related concerns and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Participate in communication systems that connect teams and strengthen quality care.

What You Bring

  • Experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge or background in health care coordination, nurse delegation, or health documentation.
  • Strong communication and organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to partner with others and promote a person-centered, collaborative approach.

Schedule & Environment

  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Travel: Local travel may be required to homes or medical providers.
  • Telework: Not eligible.

***Starting wage is $22.70 per hour with annual raises based on longevity***
