Bethesda Country Club is hiring a Rackets Professional. Exemplary service is the hallmark of the Bethesda Country Club and is expected at all times in the performance of all job responsibilities. This individual will make themselves available at specific times to give private and group lessons to members and their guests.
Essential Functions:
- The Rackets Professional will teach, coach and play tennis. They will teach adult and junior private, semi-private and group tennis lessons. Teach and supervise tennis clinics and team tennis coaching, including round robin play and cardio tennis. Play as a fourth, and/or serve as a hitting partner, and/or substitute as requested/scheduled. Home Team Match Supervision; Home and Away Junior Team Match Supervision. Other reasonable teaching/coaching/playing duties as assigned. Coach Ladies Team tennis if Fall/Spring as required.
- Responsible for accurate billing of court time through POS transactions & chit reconciliation. The Rackets Professional will maintain and complete appropriate hardcopy records of all lesson and clinic scheduling, attendance, etc.
- Schedules and confirm reservations for services using the Club's reservation program.
- Completes daily checklist of all opening and closing shift duties.
- Assists with timely, accurate resolution of member/guests questions and complaints
- Place and receive special tennis orders, including rackets as needed.
- Assists with the communication and service operation: Greet members and guests, answer phones, take messages, make court reservations, and respond to questions as needed.
Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent, required.
- High school and/or college tennis team player.
- Experience teaching tennis to juniors and adults of all ability levels.
- Strong communication skills.
- USTA 4.0 or higher, required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where change and improvement are always present.
- Availability to work an open schedule to include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
