CTR Group is currently seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer - P.E., for an Offshore / Salvage Company in the Yorktown, VA area.
Salary: $63 per hour or higher and Excellent Benefits.
SUMMARY:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be supervising engineering and drafting departments and participate in engineering and development of new equipment and systems. This will include equipment maintenance, cost estimating, and configuration management. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also develop and review engineering documents, 3D models and simulations, calculations, technical manuals, and drawings related to a marine environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree a plus.
- P.E. (Professional Engineer) license in the State of Virginia, or transferable.
- 15 years of experience as a practicing engineer.
- 12 years of engineering experience in a marine environment.
- Experience with Offshore Oil Rigs will be considered.
- Able to supervise engineering and AutoCAD drafting personnel.
- Experience in engineering and development of new equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance procedures, cost estimating, modification of existing equipment, and configuration management.
- Experience developing and reviewing engineering documents, 3D models and simulations, calculations, technical manuals, and drawings.
- Experience with salvage methods, incl. wire rope and pumping systems.
- Experience in pollution control operations and/or engineering preferred.
- Some experience with marine rigging, vessel operations, and salvage preferred.
- Experience with hazardous materials control and handling, including the theory and practice of oil spills and their containment and recovery.
