What You Will Do:

As a Cryptanalytic Computer Scientist Level 2 with Independent Software, you will apply your expertise in computer science, mathematics, and engineering to develop innovative solutions to complex cryptographic and security challenges. You will design and evaluate algorithms, build mathematical models, and analyze vulnerabilities in cryptographic systems to safeguard sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and evaluate algorithms and techniques to solve complex cryptographic and security-related problems
  • Create and utilize mathematical models and methods to study cryptographic systems and analyze potential vulnerabilities
  • Develop secure solutions to protect sensitive information against evolving threats
  • Work on high-performance computing projects to optimize cryptographic processes
  • Apply advanced computer science principles to address security challenges across diverse computing environments

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong background in computer science, mathematics, or engineering with expertise in cryptography and algorithm development
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, or evaluating mathematical models, methods, or techniques to solve technical problems
  • Experience with high-performance computing and optimization techniques
  • Ability to analyze cryptographic vulnerabilities and propose secure solutions
  • Strong programming skills combined with advanced mathematical coursework (Calculus and above)
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with mission stakeholders and technical teams

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
    OR
  • Associate’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • Degree must be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with at least one programming course and at least four upper-level math courses (Calculus and above)

Clearance Requirement:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
