Structural Fitter Shipyard Repair
Job Description:
We are hiring experienced Structural Fitters to support ship repair projects in Mobile, AL. Candidates must have strong blueprint-reading skills and experience fitting and preparing structural components for welding in a shipyard environment.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>
Fit, align, and install structural components onboard vessels
</li>
<li>
Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
</li>
<li>
Lay out and prepare steel using torches, grinders, and measuring tools
</li>
<li>
Install foundations, bulkheads, stiffeners, brackets, and clips
</li>
<li>
Tack, clamp, and assist welders with proper fit-up
</li>
<li>
Perform structural repairs and modifications
</li>
<li>
Follow all safety and shipyard procedures
</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>
3+ years of shipyard structural fitting experience
</li>
<li>
Knowledge of steel fabrication and ship repair standards
</li>
<li>
Proficient with hand tools, torches, and grinders
</li>
<li>
Ability to work onboard vessels, in confined spaces, and at heights
</li>
<li>
Must pass a written and tack test
</li>
<li>
U.S. citizenship 
</li>
