We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator with experience in operating a variety of construction equipment to support excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and material handling operations. This position is critical to ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, accurately, and to standard. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to operate machinery in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate heavy equipment including but not limited to: excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, backhoes, and compactors.

Perform pre-operational checks and daily maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Interpret site plans, blueprints, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements.

Excavate trenches, foundations, or rough/finish grade surfaces as needed for site development or utility installation.

Load and unload materials and debris using appropriate machinery.

Work closely with ground crews and other operators to complete tasks on time and within project scope.

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and OSHA regulations.

Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.

May assist with general labor tasks when equipment is not in use.
Requirements:

Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or utility setting.

Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).

OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain).

Ability to read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and elevation drawings.

Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift for extended periods and in all weather conditions.

Strong understanding of site safety and equipment best practices.

Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.

Ability to work independently and as part of a crew in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with GPS-guided machine controls.

Experience on civil, underground utility, or site development projects.

Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting basic equipment issues.
