Job Title: Electronic Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Piscataway, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $35.00 – $42.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronic Technician to join our team full-time. In this role, you will be responsible for modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and enhancing electronic equipment, controls, and systems within a manufacturing environment. You will also assist in the development and implementation of new or improved electronic products and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic and electrical equipment used in manufacturing
- Use CAD and engineering software for diagnostics and system improvements
- Collaborate with maintenance to identify and source necessary parts or replacements
- Apply engineering principles to improve the functionality of equipment and systems
- Perform independent tasks using experience and sound judgment
- Report any hazardous or malfunctioning equipment and assist in resolution
- Conduct safety checks to ensure operational compliance
- Serve as a backup to the Maintenance Manager when needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
- Support a positive and safe workplace culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or 5+ years of hands-on experience
- Strong understanding of electrical systems (24v, 110v, 220v, 480v)
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and temperature controllers
- Skilled in troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of electronic systems
- Ability to read complex schematics and relay logic circuits
- Proficient in using multimeters and testing tools
- Solid Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to follow complex instructions and work independently
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility with ambient temperatures up to 110°ree;F
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in production areas (eye, hearing, and foot protection)
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking and moderate physical labor
- Must be able to lift and carry materials
- Ability to distinguish color-coded wires and read detailed wiring schematics
