responsibilities:
- Contribute to achievement of immediate work group goals and collaborate with other team members.
- Build effective partnerships with other research lines, in particular synthetic medicinal chemistry, technology, pharmaceutical sciences and process chemistry groups.
- Develop efficient approaches to the structural elucidation of primarily small molecule compounds through developing an expertise in NMR-based methodologies.
- Drive the utilization of the most contemporary and effective analytical/purification instrumentation combined with automated technologies.
- Communicate work clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders through written and verbal communications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with NMR spectrometers
- Solve complex regio- and stereoisomer structures by NMR
- Lead and coordinate NMR lab relocation activities
- Drive automation and workflow improvements
- Advanced degree in Chemistry or related field, with demonstrated NMR structure elucidation experience
- Proficiency in Bruker NMR platforms
- Experience with NMR hardware and troubleshooting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to safety and collaboration
qualifications:
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of experience
- Experience in compound structural analysis by NMR-based and Mass Spectrometry methods
- Working knowledge of NMR-instrumentation and hardware
- Familiarity with standard laboratory techniques and working knowledge of HPLC and purification techniques
Nice-to-Have
- Broad knowledge of various analytical software packages (e.g. Agilent, ACD Labs, Bruker, etc.)
- Proficiency with basic NMR instrument upkeep and troubleshooting issues
- Experience with logistics around lab set-up after a site move
- Familiarity with development/execution of workflows for the parallel purification and analysis of compound libraries.
