CNC Punch Press Setup Operator

Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm or Direct Hire (for the right candidate)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Punch Press Setup Operator with hands-on experience setting up and running Amada turret punch presses. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of machine setup, tooling adjustments, and first-piece verification to ensure precision and productivity. This role requires strong mechanical ability, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining top-tier quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complete setups on Amada turret punch presses, including tooling, alignment, and program loading.
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD drawings to ensure all dimensions and tolerances are met.
• Adjust machine parameters such as feed rates, speeds, and tool paths for each job run.
• Conduct first-article inspections and verify critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Troubleshoot setup or production issues and make necessary corrections quickly and safely.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning to keep machines in optimal condition.
• Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and production leads to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Follow all safety and 5S procedure to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience setting up and operating Amada or similar turret punch presses.
• Proven ability to perform independent setups from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and blueprint reading (GD&T).
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools for inspection and quality checks.
• Basic CNC programming or offset adjustment knowledge (G & M code experience a plus).
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a proactive attitude.
