Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Machine Operator. This position operates on a swing shift from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, and offers a $2.00 shift differential. The successful candidate will assist in the machining of large metal parts for production and become proficient in operating a 4-axis horizontal mill.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the machining of large metal parts for production.
- Operate 4-axis horizontal mill and become proficient in its use.
- Change inserts and maintain a clean and organized work area around the machine.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate production.
- Use precision measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Conduct production run set-ups and use tooling, fixturing, segment selection, and safety procedures for grinders.
- Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain production quality.
- Stay proactive about workstation preparation and cleanup.
Essential Skills
- 1-3 years of machining experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Experience with calipers and micrometers.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in becoming a production machinist.
- Basic math comprehension, including the ability to identify measurements down to thousandths.
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience running 24" and 36" grinders.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable and eager to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in an open industrial machine shop environment with open bay doors, located approximately 0.5 miles from our headquarters. The shop produces roughly 1,200 parts a month and is very process-driven, with run cycle times varying from 1 hour to 5 minutes. Dress code is typical for an industrial setting, requiring safety gear as necessary.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
