In this automation engineering role, you will be responsible for full spectrum automation engineering tasks from concept to hand off to the production floor.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- As subject matter expert, lead projects with responsibility for planning and scheduling in a cross functional setting
- Improve existing products and processes while offering solutions to expand product line
- Design electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
- Design, develop and program PLC, HMI, and motion controls from scratch
- Develop new electrical designs for both standard and custom equipment
- Develop software for robotic systems
- Oversee project panel builds and if required build electrical panels from the ground up
- Develop and set up vision systems for applications such as angle detection, orientation detection, and feature detection using various tools
- Ability to travel periodically for startups, installations, and to resolve field issues
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- At least 5 years experience of automation and controls engineering
- Interest in being part of a team oriented setting while contributing to a positive company culture
- Proficiency programming Allen Bradley controls
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
