Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will evolve throughout the project lifecycle, ranging from design and commissioning to full-scale operations, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to each phase.
Design, Construction, and Commissioning Phase:

Collaborate with UPW design vendors to ensure design expectations are met.

Review drawings, submittals, and construction progress; perform engineering inspections.

Identify and address abnormalities during construction and commissioning.
-
Prepare and operate utility equipment for commissioning.
-
Manage handover documentation and manuals.
-
Conduct training and on-the-job training (OJT) for operational systems and duties.
-
Monitor construction activities, project schedules, RFIs, and submittals for flawless execution.

Work closely with project and construction teams to ensure timely operations.
Operational Phase:

Oversee production and delivery of Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) to site production areas, including RO, EDI, DI, and ultrafiltration systems.

Collaborate with WWT/BRF engineering teams for integrated operations.
-
Develop and implement PM procedures and emergency SOPs.
-
Operate and manage the Central Control Room.

Maintain a safe work environment for all stakeholders.
-
Monitor system performance through trend analysis, field walks, and reporting.

Research and implement technology upgrades to improve quality, reliability, and safety.

Continuously evaluate process requirements and equipment specifications.
-
Communicate regularly with supervisor and technical lead regarding water analysis and system issues.

Lead and execute critical projects supporting UPW operations and improvements.

Hook-Up & Layout: Review equipment matrix, prepare bidding documents, supervise on-site work, and manage equipment handover.

Expansion: Handle planning, design, construction, completion, and permitting.

Operations on-call support in a 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environment.

Create FMEA risk analysis documents for the UPW systems

Integrate reliability engineering and risk analysis into daily operations, including FMEAs, root cause investigations, and design reviews.
Knowledge and Personal Skills

Strong understanding of UPW systems, industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
-
Effective collaboration and communication skills.

Knowledge of adjacent disciplines (automation, water, gas, chemicals, environmental).

Strong analytical, decision-making, and time management skills.

Proficiency in corporate software tools (MS office, Bluebeam)

Willingness to work overtime or respond to emergencies.

Ethical, trustworthy, respectful, and flexible.
Education and Experience
-
B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Process.
-
5+ years of experience in UPW facilities engineering (design & operations).
-
Knowledge of water treatment technologies and processes.
-
Experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up preferred.
-
Professional Engineering License (PE) is a plus.
