Summary

The Alburgh Family Clubhouse Assistant Director is responsible for daily operations and program oversight, including assessment and evaluation of all direct care staff. Our ideal candidate has experience working directly with children and supervising adults. Familiarity with state licensing regulations and high quality program assessment tools, like CLASS and NAEYC, is preferred.

Duties

·Work with staff to ensure program excellence and high quality staff performance
·Oversee ongoing creation and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum plans
·Manage staff scheduling, including time off and call outs
·Develop relationships with families and maintain clear and consistent lines of communication
·Regularly evaluate all staff to ensure program values are being upheld consistently
·Stay informed about resources for families, staff, and the program
·Meet professional development requirements, including ongoing training ensuring they are up to date on standards and concerns in the field
·Manage professional development tracking for all direct care staff, including supporting them in creating annual professional development plans
·Perform ongoing observation and assessment of direct care staff
·Manage relationships with professional services in the field, supporting staff and families in accessing supports as needed
·Schedule and oversee twice annual parent teacher conferences
·Supervision of staff in accordance with Vermont Childcare Licensing Regulations
·Coach direct care staff in creation and maintenance of assessment portfolios for students
·Plan annual training opportunities for direct care staff
·Oversee ongoing classroom budgeting and curriculum supply purchasing
·Set classroom routines, including as it pertains to daily outdoor time with the children

Requirements

·Must be over the age of 20
·BA in Early Childhood Education or related field OR a current Vermont Agency of Education teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education
·At least 2 years experience working with groups of young children in a group setting

Nice To Haves

·At least 2 years of supervisory experience managing multiple employees
·At least 1 year experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring adult learners
·Experience with early childhood quality assessment programs, including VT STARS, National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation, Teachstone’s Classroom Assessment Scoring System, Infant/Toddler Environmental Scale, and Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale
·Experience with emergent and nature based curriculum planning and implementation
