CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD
Position Overview
The Rockhill Group is seeking an experienced Weather Forecaster to support the 28th Operational Weather Squadron (OWS) at Shaw Air Force Base. This position provides operational meteorological forecasting and environmental intelligence in direct support of U.S. Air Force, joint, and combatant command operations within the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational weather forecasting support in a 24/7 environment.
- Analyze atmospheric data and produce military weather products.
- Deliver decision-cycle weather inputs for operational planning and execution.
- Participate in shift change briefings and continuation training.
- Support training, QA, and certification of weather products.
- Ensure compliance with security and information assurance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Eight (8) years of recent DoD weather forecasting experience OR Four-year degree plus four (4) years of DoD forecasting experience
- Military 7-level (or equivalent) certification or civil service equivalent
- Active Secret clearance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Work Schedule
- Rotating shifts supporting 24/7 operations.
- Average 42.5 hours per week
- Federal holidays are working days.
