Position Summary ????

The Health Physics Support Specialist plays a vital role in reading, analyzing, and verifying dosimeter data, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of radiation dose results delivered to clients. This dynamic position is responsible for reading dosimeters, reviewing and validating results before release, troubleshooting technical issues, and resolving complex analytical challenges.

Working at the intersection of production, quality assurance, and analytical systems, this individual ensures processes comply with ISO 17025 standards and that the dosimetry platform operates reliably and effectively.

The role requires strong technical acumen, a detail-oriented mindset, and frequent collaboration across multiple teams—including Assembly, Receiving, Quality, and Health Physicists. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role that contributes directly to the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality dosimetry services.

This position is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

What You’ll Do ????

The essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform reading, analysis, validation, and approval of radiation dose results to ensure accuracy and integrity prior to client release.
  • Review analytical data and dosimeter readings in accordance with internal protocols and ISO 17025 standards.
  • Write procedures and training materials documenting the work in a legible and easy to understand way while maintaining accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve anomalies in dose results and laboratory performance; implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to laboratory personnel on dosimetry processes, equipment usage, and quality standards.
  • Conduct routine surveillance of lab operations to ensure adherence to safety procedures, quality control requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Calibrate and maintain analytical equipment using known standards; troubleshoot technical issues related to instrumentation.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized records, documentation, and reports in compliance with laboratory and accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including additional laboratory personnel, Assembly, Receiving, Quality Assurance, and Health Physics Support, to ensure consistent and accurate processing of dosimetry data.
  • Utilize various software tools (e.g., spreadsheets, lab systems, CRM platforms) to manage data, process evaluations, and generate reports
  • Utilize various software tools, including spreadsheets and word processing programs, to manage data and support lab operations.
  • Apply LEAN principles and Continuous Improvement Techniques
  • Document product and process non-conformances; participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Train laboratory personnel on technical processes, equipment, and analytical procedures as needed.
  • Participate in internal quality audits and support preparations for external NVLAP/ISO 17025 assessments

Education & Experience ????????

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Health Physics, Health Sciences or equivalent experience in the field of Dosimetry.
  • Experience
    1. 3+ years industry or related experience.

  8. Familiarity with regulatory and quality standards, including ISO 17025, NVLAP, and general radiation safety requirements.
  9. Strong documentation skills, including accurate recordkeeping and clear summaries of investigations and technical findings.
  10. Proficiency in standard business and technical tools, including Microsoft Excel and Word
