We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator with deep expertise in HeavyBid and HeavyJob systems to lead the estimating process for heavy civil, infrastructure, and construction projects. The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates as well as setup, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the HeavyBid and HeavyJob platforms, ensuring seamless integration between estimating and field operations.

Key Responsibilities:

HeavyBid & HeavyJob System Management

· Lead the initial setup and configuration of HeavyBid and HeavyJob systems, including cost databases, bid templates, crew libraries, and resource codes.

· Maintain and update system components to reflect current labor rates, equipment costs, material pricing, and production rates.

· Ensure data integrity and consistency across both platforms to support accurate estimating and job costing.

· Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system usage across departments.

· Provide technical support and training to estimators, project managers, and field staff on best practices and new features.

· Collaborate with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot issues, manage updates, and implement system enhancements.

Estimating & Preconstruction

· Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil and infrastructure projects using HeavyBid.

· Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate scopes and pricing.

· Perform quantity takeoffs, subcontractor/vendor solicitation, and risk analysis.

· Participate in bid reviews and strategy meetings with senior leadership.

· Support project handoff to operations, ensuring estimates are accurately transferred to HeavyJob for field execution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with operations, accounting, and project management teams to ensure alignment between estimating and job tracking.

· Assist in the integration of HeavyBid/HeavyJob with other enterprise systems (e.g., accounting, ERP, scheduling).

· Provide feedback to improve workflows and enhance system utilization across the company.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering and/or 3-7 years of equivalent experience required.

· General knowledge of construction principles and processes.

· Ability to synthesize cost data from a wide range of sources into a conceptual estimate.

· Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

· General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.

· Working knowledge of estimating technology and tools.

· Strong math and analytical skills.
