Job DescriptionWe are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Plans Examiner to join our team in Rosemont, Illinois. In this long-term contract role, you will review and evaluate construction documents to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards. Responsibilities:
• Evaluate architectural drawings, blueprints, and site plans to confirm adherence to local codes, zoning regulations, and construction standards.
• Assess construction projects for compliance with safety requirements, accessibility standards, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and developers to address design issues and recommend solutions for code compliance.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining review findings, including necessary modifications, approvals, or rejections.
• Conduct preliminary assessments of construction proposals to ensure completeness and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Offer technical guidance and support to stakeholders, including contractors and developers, regarding code requirements and interpretations.
• Stay up-to-date with changes to building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure best practices.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of plan reviews, approvals, and related correspondence.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of training programs aimed at enhancing code compliance awareness among staff, contractors, and the public.
• Proven experience in building plan review, construction practices, or architectural design.
• Strong understanding of local building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in reviewing architectural drawings, blueprints, and construction documents.
• Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Solid knowledge of construction engineering and architectural principles.
• Experience working with building permits and understanding land use and zoning requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with industry standards and updates related to building codes and construction practices.
The hourly salary range for this position is $40.00to $55.00. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
