Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

Join our team as a CNC Machinist where you will operate both manual and CNC machine tools to create high-quality plastic or metal workpieces. You will work with lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders, maintaining exacting tolerances and ensuring the quality of each product. Your role is crucial in visualizing finished products and recognizing blueprint errors to report necessary corrections. Additionally, you may function as the final inspector for finished manufactured products.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
  • Perform machine set-ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of machined parts.
  • Conduct required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedure and perform inspections on work-in-progress using a wide variety of measuring devices.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials for machines.
  • Acquire raw materials, supplies, tools, etc., when necessary.
  • Inspect machinery for any needed repairs and perform minor repairs within expertise.
  • Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors.
  • Utilize Geometric Dimension & Tolerance as called out on the print.
  • Operate fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of CNC experience, including mills and lathes.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing/shop experience.
  • Proficiency with CNC, blueprints, lathe, and grinder.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and good math skills.
  • Proficient with operating a computer and internal software.
  • Efficient and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to operate various types of machine tools for progressive machining.
  • Ability to read blueprints and plans.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Geometric Dimension & Tolerance is advantageous.

This is a Permanent position based out of Jeffersonville, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $54080.00/yr.

Due to their union benefits do not kick in until after 90 days. *Make sure candidates are aware.
