Licensing Specialist – Global Commercial Insurance Firm (Midtown Manhattan)
A growing international commercial insurance firm is seeking a Licensing Specialist to support all aspects of domestic and international (re)insurance regulatory and licensing compliance. Responsibilities include managing license applications, registrations, renewals, corporate filings, affiliate transaction submissions, director/officer notifications, and communications with insurance regulators. The role also assists Reinsurance Counsel with filing and tracking affiliate reinsurance contracts requiring prior approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and manage domestic and international (re)insurance license and registration renewals
• Submit and track regulatory filings, including payments to state regulators
• Maintain organized records of licenses, registrations, fees, and submissions
• Coordinate with regulators, state insurance departments, law firms, and internal teams
• Update biographical affidavits for officers and directors
• Conduct research on holding company statutes and other regulatory matters
• Respond to daily inquiries on filings, assessments, data calls, and regulatory notices
• Maintain original and electronic copies of licenses and registrations
• Support special regulatory projects as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication, research, analytical, and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3–5 years of insurance regulatory, licensing, or legal experience
• Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism with sensitive information
• Ability to follow established workflows and work independently or collaboratively
• Proficiency in online legal and insurance research
