As a PLM Lab Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in our laboratory operations. You will be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of bulk material samples for asbestos, applying your expertise to ensure the precision and quality of our results. We are open to hiring either an experienced professional or someone eager to learn, as we provide comprehensive training. As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Lab Analyst II to join our team.
Compensation:
$25 - $35 hourly
Responsibilities:
- PLM Analysis: Perform Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) analysis of bulk material samples for asbestos, including sample preparation and examination under a HEPA-filtered hood for complete worker safety.
- Quality Control: Maintain strict quality control procedures to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.
- Instrumentation: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments related to asbestos analysis.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized records of all laboratory activities and results.
- Safety: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the laboratory team to meet project deadlines and maintain effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science) is preferred but not required.
- Experience in laboratory analysis is a plus, but not mandatory; we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and practices.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
