Job Summary:

Validate parts and assemblies against the design intent by collecting points gathered by using a

coordinate measure machine.


Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree and three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum one (1) year programming CMM, Faro equipment and Polyworks software experience a plus.
  • CMM Level III certification preferred.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience operating Laser Tracker and Articulated Arm PCMM’s either Faro,
  • Leica, or API using Spatial Analyzer or Polyworks.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably IFS.
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent attendance record including job stability.
  • Must have the ability to change and adapt to new situations.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.

Requirements:

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Operate Portable Coordinate Metrology Machine(s) to verify various products are in dimensional accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Operate PCMM’s to assist trades in fit-up i.e. live fit.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on PCMM and inspection equipment.
  • Collect and analyze data using Spatial Analyzer.
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Uses calipers, micrometers, and other hand inspection tools as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in the department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Travel Requirements:

As needed to facilities within the Southeast region.


Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
  • All Keel locations are tobacco free where appropriate.
