CNC Lathe Machinists – Level I, II, III (2nd Shift)

Location: Garden Grove, CA
Shift: B Shift – Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Pay:

  • Level I: $21.50–$24.75/hr + $2/hr shift diff
  • Level II: $23.50–$29.50/hr + $2/hr shift diff
  • Level III: $28.00–$35.00/hr + $2/hr shift diff

About the Roles

All machinist levels operate CNC lathes to produce high-precision aerospace components, verify part quality, maintain machine performance, and uphold safety and quality standards. The difference between each level is based on experience, technical depth, and the complexity of setups and troubleshooting required.

CNC Lathe Machinist I (Entry-Level)

Ideal for: Operators with 1+ year of CNC experience or technical training
Key Focus: Operating CNC lathes, performing basic troubleshooting, measuring parts for accuracy, maintaining tooling, and supporting daily production needs.

You’ll Do:

  • Run CNC lathe machines and monitor part quality
  • Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Perform basic tool changes and machine checks
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace
  • Follow work instructions and SPC processes


CNC Lathe Machinist II (Intermediate)

Ideal for: Machinists with 3+ years of CNC machining experience and strong blueprint/G-Code knowledge
Key Focus: More complex setups, dual lathe/mill operation, part inspections, and assisting in process improvements.

You’ll Do:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills
  • Prepare tooling and modify as needed
  • Perform in-process inspections and SPC checks
  • Troubleshoot operational and programming issues
  • Document tooling, maintenance, and machine performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives


CNC Lathe Machinist III (Advanced)

Ideal for: Experienced machinists (5+ years) with advanced programming and troubleshooting abilities
Key Focus: Full setups, advanced tooling adjustments, mentoring junior machinists, and driving productivity and quality improvements.

You’ll Do:

  • Perform full setups using advanced blueprint/specification knowledge
  • Modify tooling and optimize machining parameters
  • Troubleshoot complex programming or operational issues
  • Conduct tool life studies and minor maintenance
  • Train Level I & II machinists
  • Support Lean/process improvement efforts


What You’ll Bring (Varies by Level)

  • High School Diploma or GED (Technical schooling preferred)
  • Blueprint reading and precision measuring skills
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges
  • Increasing CNC programming knowledge from Level I → III (G-Code, Okuma/Tornos, MasterCAM preferred)
  • Proven ability to hold tight tolerances
  • Strong safety, quality, and teamwork mindset


Physical Requirements:
Stand for long periods, bend/reach regularly, and lift up to 30 lbs. Work in a loud manufacturing environment.
