Title:- Senior Scientist
Job Location:- La Jolla, CA, 92121
Duration:- 6+ Month (With Extension)
Position Summary
As a Senior Scientist in the Oncology Analytical you will play a pivotal role in advancing client medicinal chemistry programs. You will contribute to the structural elucidation of small molecule compounds, primarily using NMR spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry, and help implement novel analytical workflows and automation strategies to enhance discovery and development efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and interpret NMR-based structural analyses of small molecules (achiral/chiral compounds) and related synthetic intermediates.
- Utilize Mass Spectrometry (MS) and complementary analytical methods for compound characterization.
- Develop and implement innovative analytical and purification workflows to streamline compound analysis and data generation.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot NMR instrumentation and associated hardware.
- Collaborate closely with synthetic medicinal chemistry and analytical chemistry teams to support compound design, synthesis, and validation.
- Communicate findings clearly through written reports, presentations, and discussions with internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical methods and laboratory processes to increase throughput and data quality.
- Support logistical and technical aspects of lab setup, relocation, or instrumentation upgrades, as required.
Required Skill: -
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry, particularly NMR and Mass Spectrometry for compound characterization.
- Demonstrated expertise in compound structural analysis using NMR-based methods.
- Working knowledge of NMR instrumentation and hardware operation (e.g., Bruker, Agilent).
- Familiarity with HPLC and purification techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of analytical software packages (e.g., Bruker TopSpin, Agilent ChemStation, ACD Labs, MNova).
- Proficiency in basic NMR maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing and executing workflows for parallel purification and analysis of compound libraries.
- Familiarity with automation technologies and high-throughput analytical platforms.
- Experience supporting lab setup or relocation projects.
Education:-
- Bachelor's Degree Or Master Degree. Open for PhD as well
