EMPLOYMENT IDENTIFICATION:

TITLE: Quality Engineer

REPORTS TO: Quality Manager / Director of Quality

DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance


PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance systems and procedures to ensure that all products and processes meet applicable standards, specifications, and customer requirements. This position supports continuous improvement initiatives, conducts root cause analysis, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS OF THE POSITION:


  • Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14298, and ISO 27001 quality and integrated management systems.
  • Develop inspection and testing protocols for raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
  • Perform root cause analysis for non-conformances and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, FMEAs, process flows, inspection instructions, and SOPs.
  • Analyze production data and quality metrics to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality and compliance throughout the lifecycle.
  • Support internal and external audits, including regulatory and customer audits.
  • Assist with equipment, process, and material qualification and validation activities.
  • Train operators and staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all customer, regulatory, and industry-specific requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
  • Experience with FMEA, control plans, PPAP, or Gage R&R preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP and QMS systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • CQE or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
