Senior Supply/S&OP Planner

Our state-of-the-art Circularity Center, currently under construction in Houston, TX, will be the first large scale facility in the United States, designed to process a diverse range of post-consumer, commercial, and industrial plastic waste. This innovative center will have the capacity to produce 300 million pounds of custom-formulated feedstock per year and convert it into ISCC-PLUS-certified feedstock suitable for mechanical and advanced recycling applications.

Role Overview
The Senior Supply/S&OP Planner is responsible for leading the planning, forecasting, and material acquisition activities required to support the company's operational needs and customer demand. This role balances short-term transactional procurement tasks with strategic planning responsibilities, ensuring inventory optimization, timely availability, and alignment with production schedules. In addition, this position will focus on defining, maturing, and optimizing the long-term S&OP process, driving improved alignment between demand, supply, and capacity planning over extended horizons. The Senior Supply/S&OP Planner will operate with independence while maintaining close alignment with the Tolling Director. This position also offers opportunities to mentor junior planners and influence cross-functional decision-making within the supply chain.
Key Accountability Buckets
- Materials Planning (60%)
- Maintain accurate delivery schedules and due dates in ERP/MRP systems
- Adjust safety stock, reorder points, and MRP parameters to balance supply with demand.
- Integrate S&OP insights to support proactive demand forecasting, supply alignment, and inventory optimization
- Lead input into the S&OP process to support alignment of demand and supply
- Conduct regular inventory reviews, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Optionally mentor junior planners on forecasting and planning best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration (25%)
- Partner closely with operations, logistics, sourcing, quality, and finance to ensure smooth material flow.
- Escalate and resolve supply risks proactively through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Serve as a core participant in the S&OP process, providing critical input on material availability, supplier capacity, and demand planning assumptions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to S&OP planning accuracy, process efficiency, and system use.
- Influence planning and procurement decisions while maintaining operational accountability.
- Procurement Execution (15%)
- Perform light transactional purchasing activities, including creating and following up on purchase orders.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve order discrepancies or non-conformance issues.
- Support the implementation of procurement strategies and guidance provided by the Tolling Manager.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP/MRP systems.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time material availability (% of materials available when required).
- Inventory accuracy (% deviation between system and physical counts).
- Forecast accuracy (bias/accuracy at SKU or material level).
- MRP/ERP data quality (% of purchase orders correctly entered and maintained).
- Supplier on-time delivery (% of orders delivered on or before due date).
- Maintain compliance with ISCC+ and other sustainability-related documentation requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in procurement, planning, or supply chain operations, preferably within plastics, recycling, or manufacturing industries.
- Previous experience in defining, streamlining, and improving an S&OP process
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing supplier communications and resolving order-related issues.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Education / Training
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
Position Mechanics
- Reports to: Tolling Manager
- Type: Exempt; Full-time
- Work Hours: Flexible, 8:00–5:00, on site Monday to Thursday with Friday as a work from home day. Occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None, but opportunity to mentor junior planners
- Location: The Woodlands, TX
- Work Environment: Primarily office environment; occasional industrial environment where PPE is required
- Travel: Moderate – less than 25% as needed to meet with internal stakeholders or off-site meetings
- Physical Demand: Substantially office environment; occasional lifting or manual work
