Job DescriptionThe Quality Manager leads the Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) function to ensure compliance with SQF, FSMA, and customer requirements. This role oversees plant-level food safety systems, documentation, and quality initiatives while supporting continuous improvement across production operations. Acting as the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), the Quality Manager upholds regulatory and customer standards to ensure product integrity, consistency, and safety.Responsibilities:

  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve the facility’s Food Safety and Quality Management System (SQF, FSMA)
  • Serve as SQF Practitioner or backup, maintaining audit readiness and certification compliance
  • Lead and develop FSQA Technicians and production staff on food safety and quality best practices
  • Oversee non-conforming product management, corrective actions, and customer complaint investigations
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits (SQF, regulatory, and customer)
  • Verify HACCP plans, calibrations, packaging checks, and metal detection programs for compliance
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation on quality and process improvements
  • Maintain and analyze FSQA documentation, trends, and performance reports
  • Support mock recalls, food defense, and crisis management exercises

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of quality or food safety experience in food manufacturing (bakery preferred)
  • Certification as PCQI, HACCP, or SQF Practitioner (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Strong knowledge of SQF, FSMA, GMP, and HACCP requirements
  • Proven leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic quality management systems
  • Ability to work in both production and office environments, including occasional weekends or off-shifts

Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
