Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and mechanically inclined Machinist to support production operations in a manufacturing facility located in Ashland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have strong machining abilities, hands-on mechanical skills, and experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various machine tools. This role is critical in ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor manual and CNC machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
- Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and basic programming as needed
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform minor repairs
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company policies
- Collaborate with the production team to meet manufacturing goals
- Document production data and quality checks accurately
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machines when required
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Machinist or in a mechanical/machine-operation role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments
- Experience with manual lathes, mills, grinders, or CNC equipment preferred
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
