We are seeking a motivated, energetic, team-orientated individual w/bachelors degree and certification in Athletic Training (ATC) from the NATA to work as an active member of a team to cover local sports through our community outreach and Santa Clara Unified School District high school programs. Schedule and hours may vary depending upon need and season. Competitive salary is negotiable based on experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Game supervision
- Injury evaluation, care, prevention, and rehabilitation of student- athletes
- Supervision and coordination of student athletic trainers, interns or Sports PT Residents
- Maintenance and supervision of clinic and training room
- Order, maintain and distribute supplies for team medical/ATC kits
- Communicate with doctors, coaches and parents regarding injured athletes
- Responsibility/Authority to restrict participation of an athlete for medical reasons
- Keep records of daily treatments and injury reports
- Travel with teams required
Requirements:
CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER
Responsible for:
- 20-38 hours of top level patient care and management per week
- Progress Letters, Daily chart notes, backing up patient letter files once every quarter
- Communication with MDs, DOs, DPMs, coaches, visiting team trainers
- Management of LGOST-PT Student Intern Sports Medicine program
- Continuing education for professional development
- Inservice and educational training for other therapists
- Maintain current licensure, certifications and personal policy of liability insurance
- Confirm DATES AND ARRIVAL TIMES for covering events
- Recommend arrival 45-60 minutes prior to start of event unless otherwise specified by Athletic Director or main point of contact
- Introduce yourself to AD, coaches, officials/referees & visiting team Athletic Trainer prior to start of event
Emergency Action planning
- Field/school contact for activating EMS
- Directions/address for EMS
- Route to injured athlete/field access
