Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules, guidelines, and company policies. Responsible to create and model a safe work environment and demonstrate safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.

  • Mentor, develop staff both technically and for leadership roles.

  • Supervise and manage progress of all geotechnical projects to ensure quality and timely deliverables.

  • Risk assessment and management at all levels including quality assurance of both technical and non-technical aspects of the department as well as subcontractors/subconsultants.

  • Risk assessment for both conventional and alternate delivery contracts.

  • Oversite of Technical work quality including proposal preparation, management of client meetings and overall client satisfaction.

  • Manage the execution of geotechnical contracts including report review and report preparation, and critical review of field and laboratory test procedures and data.

  • Contribute to increasing geotechnical engineering consulting footprint in the market including supporting marketing and business development staff.

  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Manage quality standards and practices.

  • Provide technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and complex projects.

  • Reporting to leadership.

  • Managing budgets.

  • Devising strategies to increase productivity and improve operations.

  • Resolving escalated customer complaints or queries.

Education and Related Requirements:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering

  • 15+ years of relevant hands-on experience in heavy civil projects

  • Conversant in both AASHTO (LRFD) as well as LFD/ASD procedures applicable for foundations, slopes and MSE Wall analyses

  • Familiarity with DOT and/or FHWA procedures for transportation structures and pavement analyses

  • Familiarity with FL/GA geology and local field and design practices is preferred

  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

Preferred Licenses, Registrations or Certifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) in GA/FL

  • Membership in applicable Professional Societies
