We are located in Robinsonville, MS, which is 20 minutes South of Memphis.

We are the US subsidiary of a German-based leading independent producer of crankshafts, "the heart of every engine."

In Europe, we produce crankshafts for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, VW, Audi, Renault, Jaguar, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and many more.

In North America, we produce crankshafts for GM, Ford, Mercury and many more.

We are now expanding our plant to a new 2nd line.

We are hiring immediately.

Pay, Benefits, Working Conditions, Training, Advancement:

Pay- We pay $15 to $35 per hour based on experience.

Benefits- We pay 85% of our employees' health, dental and vision insurances and 100% of life insurance and short-term disability. We have a 401k with a 5% match. We provide 2 weeks (80 hours) of PTO available after 90 days of employment.

Training- For employees willing to work hard and move up, we offer 7 levels of training and 7 pay levels for advancement.

Metallurgical Engineer

SUMMARY:

Will function typical metallurgical equipment including, but not limited to, hardness testing, micro-hardness testing, metallurgical sample preparation, stereo microscope, metallurgical microscope and provide analytical data accordingly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for quality of parts by ensuring that the heat treatment process produces parts conforming to quality specifications.
  • Develops quality system documentation for heat treatment processes, including work. instructions, process control plans, performance records and process FMEAs.
  • Order lab supplies as needed, participate in temperature surveys, oversee PM schedule for heat treat equipment, update CQI-9 survey, participate in IATF-16949 and customer audits, keeping records to satisfy the CQI-9 standard, review customer standards and apply where appropriate, provide PPAP data when needed.
  • Perform variety of evaluations including metallography, microhardness measurements, failure analysis, Barkhausen noise analysis, cleanliness test, pH measurement and washer concentration test.
  • Manage calibration of all testing and heat-treating equipment.
  • Can participate in root cause analysis, research & development and suggest process improvements including but not limited to corrosion, cleanliness and heat treatment.
  • Communicates progress and results through written technical reports, data letters, and presentations to internal and external teams.
  • Use metallography techniques to evaluate induction hardening grain structure to verify effective case martensitic conditions and evaluate various structures such as core grain size and grain boundaries, and monitor processes and ensure that parts meet customer drawings and specification requirements.
  • Utilize stereo microscope to verify induction hardened case dimensions.
  • Perform Rockwell Standard incoming receiving inspection of forging core hardness according to customer drawings and specification requirements.
  • Utilize microhardness tester to perform hardness depth profiles via Knoop and Vickers Indenter types.
  • Perform Rockwell Standard and Superficial hardness testing on heat treated hardware to verify material acceptance.
  • Perform solvent extraction cleanliness inspections, determine weight of contaminants. perform software driven microscopic analysis of contaminants to identify type, size, and quantities of debris.
  • Perform titration analysis of plant parts washer's solution to determine correct cleaning agent percentage in water, then add cleaning agent as required based on titration results.
  • Prepare analysis reports for all inspections.
  • Perform various quality related tasks as required by the Senior Quality Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in Metallurgical Engineering with 1 year experience in heat treatment operations or Master's in engineering with heat treatment experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in heat treat operations or a combination of 2 years of formal metallurgical education and heat treat experience.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Reads, understands and correctly interprets basic blueprint drawings and customer heat treatment and cleanliness specifications.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Effective interaction with team members, customers and all levels of management.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist. (Note - must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.) Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.
