Position: Senior Estimator

Division: SMC
Type: Full-Time | Exempt | Monday–Friday
Reports To: Division Manager
Salary Range: $75,000 – $110,000 (Based on experience)

SkillForce is looking for a sharp, driven Senior Estimator to help lead our preconstruction efforts in mechanical contracting. What You’ll Do

Develop accurate cost estimates and takeoffs for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal)

Analyze drawings, specs, and bid documents to define scope and strategy

Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing and confirm scope

Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives

Build project schedules, procurement plans, and turnover documentation

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless handoffs and alignment

Maintain compliance with codes and regulations

Support change order tracking and scope adjustments
What You Bring

5+ years of experience in mechanical estimating or project management

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal systems

Ability to read construction drawings and interpret specifications

Proficiency in Quickpen, Microsoft Excel, and related estimating tools

Understanding of construction codes and permitting processes

Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
