Job DescriptionDo you love working with KIDS?! Come join our Burn Team where you can support the Burn community in a safe and healthy way! We are looking for a caring and compassionate part time Child Watch attendant who is responsible for the safety and supervision of children while their parents are participating in on site physical fitness. We are committed to providing top quality care and a welcoming environment that reflects the Burn commitment to community. Our goal is to enhance the lives of every child that attends our facility and ensure a safe, engaging, and clean environment.

Currently hiring for a variety of weekday mornings and evenings and Saturday morning. CLOSED SUNDAYS!

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide direct supervision and care of children from 2 months to 13 years old. Greet everyone by name when possible, extend thanks whenever appropriate, and make relationship building and teaching a high priority at all times.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and monitor the safety of children
  • Ensure all children have a liability waiver, signed by the parent or legal guardian on file
  • Check all children in and out every time they attend Childwatch
  • Execute cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all of the interactive areas sanitary and safe
  • Prepare and organize engaging and educational activities for children
  • De-escalate upset children and retrieve parents if child cannot be comforted
  • Escort children to restrooms for bathroom breaks
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment for all children

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Caring and compassionate attitude is a must
  • Patience - working with children can be frustrating, so Childwatch workers need to be able to respond to overwhelming and difficult situations calmly
  • Instructional skills - Childwatch workers need to be able to explain things in terms young children can understand
  • Physical stamina - working with children can be physically taxing, so Childwatch workers should have a lot of energy
  • Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds
  • Preferred experience in child or daycare
