Ambassador Personnel is looking for an experienced MAT Quality Engineer to join our client’s dynamic automotive manufacturing team in Gaffney, SC. The Mat Quality Engineer is responsible for managing the quality system within the Mat Department and ensuring compliance with all applicable procedures, customer requirements, and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Develop sampling procedures and documentation for quality and reliability data. Implement inspection standards and testing methods for in-process and finished goods.

Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment (MSA).

Analyze process data to reduce variation and drive cost-effective improvements.

Assist in the disposition of non-conforming products and determine cost/responsibility.

Direct and support team members in quality measurement and testing activities.

Compile training materials and conduct sessions on quality processes.

Monitor and report performance at customer sites; facilitate corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on APQP processes for new projects.

Prepare Customer Product Validation Packages for new launches and engineering changes.

Perform process, system, and supplier audits; report findings and drive improvements.


Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5-7 years in quality or manufacturing within the automotive industry.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of ISO/IATF16949 standards.
  • Experience with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills (8D, 5-Why, 5P methodology).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical tools (Minitab, SPC, DOE).
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations on short notice.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
