JOB TITLE – Bakery Assistant (PT)
DEPARTMENT - Bakery
REPORTS TO – Head Baker
SUMMARY
The Bakery Assistant supports the daily operations of the bakery at Temple Square Hospitality by assisting with the preparation, organization, and presentation of baked goods. This role plays a key part in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the bakery, supporting bakers, and ensuring quality control and food safety standards are consistently met.
JOB ENVIRONMENT
Works primarily indoors in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment. Must be comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate baking schedules. Works with a variety of kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, and other baking tools.
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Prior experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food preparation role preferred
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
· Physically capable of lifting and moving kitchen equipment, heavy items, and food ingredients up to 50 pounds
· Adherence to a professional appearance, hygiene standards, and company dress and grooming policy
· Must be comfortable working in fast-paced environments
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Assists with the preparation of bread and other baked goods
· Weighs, measures, and organizes ingredients according to recipes
· Maintains cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including equipment and utensils
· Adheres to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
· Assists with inventory management and ordering of baking supplies
· Communicates effectively with management to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
· Performs other duties as assigned by management
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
· May be required to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays, to accommodate baking schedules
· Takes on additional duties as required or assigned by management
COMPENSATION
$19.00/hour - $21.00/hour. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
