This is a seconded position, meaning the selected candidate will be employed by ITAC but work full-time on assignment with one of our clients. While day-to-day responsibilities will be managed on-site with the client, ITAC provides ongoing support, resources, and benefits as your employer. This position is for an estimated duration of six (6) months with the potential to extend, and requires the employee to be on the client's Byhalia, MS site. Objective
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in leading mechanical engineering efforts across a large industrial project, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with client objectives. This role involves advanced design, analysis, troubleshooting, and leadership in project execution within multidisciplinary environments.
Responsibilities
Engineering
- Develop electrical scope documents, specifications, and discipline narratives.
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, motor control, lighting, and instrumentation.
- Interface with vendors and clients to define technical requirements and maintain quality control.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other applicable codes and standards.
Project Management
- Support development and maintenance of project schedules and budgets.
- Track discipline costs and report variances.
- Assist in execution planning and risk identification.
Administrative
- Participate in estimating, sales support, and professional development activities.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
Experience
- 10+ years as an electrical engineer with extensive design and construction support experience.
- Familiarity with multidiscipline project environments and electrical system commissioning/startup.
- Experience in manufacturing and industrial construction environment.
- Experience in industrial construction design.
Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Electrical, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE standards, and NFPA codes.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems under pressure.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Certifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
