As a Controls Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and commissioning custom control systems that help manufacturers operate more efficiently and reliably. From PLC and HMI programming to on-site testing and troubleshooting, you'll see your work come to life as part of projects that drive real results for our customers. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving problems, collaborating across disciplines, and building lasting technical expertise.

As an Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Design, program, test, and commission control systems, including PLC and HMI hardware and software
  • Collaborate with customers and internal project teams to develop automation solutions that meet performance, quality, and safety requirements
  • Support the full project lifecycle from quoting and design through implementation, FAT, and SAT
  • Create control documentation, including wiring diagrams, I/O lists, and technical manuals
  • Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting support during installation, startup, and system operation
  • Coordinate with panel fabrication and field service teams to ensure design intent and technical accuracy
  • Maintain strong communication with customers to ensure expectations are met and satisfaction is achieved
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and technical standards

Experience and Qualifications
What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation and controls engineering
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial control systems and electrical design
  • Familiarity with system integration, testing, and commissioning processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively
