Tube Specialties, Inc. (TSI), a leading small business in Tempe, Arizona, specializing in precision tube fabrication for the Aircraft/Aerospace and Defense industries, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Tool & Die Maker. Founded in 1973, TSI is dedicated to delivering high-quality, intricate assemblies, including complex manifolds, bent assemblies, and critical components for fighter jets and anti-ballistic missiles. Position Summary:
The Tool & Die Maker will be responsible for the precision machining, fabrication, and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the production of complex tube assemblies. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and quality of our manufacturing processes, directly contributing to our ability to produce game-changing technology and hardware for our demanding clientele.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, repair, and maintain a variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges with high precision.

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.

Operate a wide range of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and presses, to fabricate components.

Perform precision measurements using various inspection tools to ensure conformity to specifications.

Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling designs for manufacturability and efficiency.

Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the tooling department.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Tool & Die Maker, preferably within the aerospace, defense, or a similar high-precision manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of tooling concepts, materials, and heat treatment processes.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.

Expertise in operating manual and CNC machining equipment.

Exceptional attention to detail and precision in workmanship.

Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
